Yet most professionals feel uncomfortable marketing and selling their services. And in truth, most clients don’t like being “sold to”.
Senior professionals need to develop the mindset and skills to actively pursue and win new work: from generating initial leads to effectively developing and nurturing opportunities with clients to presenting solutions and closing. But they need to do it in a way that wins their client’s trust and confidence – not one that makes them feel manipulated and “sold to”.

Our Background
The Rainmaker Academy is run by Ian Brodie.
He’s been helping some of the world’s leading organisations with their marketing and sales challenges for over 16 years.
More importantly, he’s “walked the talk” and sold multi-million dollar consulting engagements across multiple countries and cultures.
But in truth, Ian admits he’s far from a natural salesperson – in fact it was something of a nasty surprise for him when he realised early on in his career that in order to progress and do the kind of work he was interested in, he would need to sell.
But through study, experience, and having some of the best “rainmakers” in the field as my mentors, he learned what it takes for even the most reluctant of professionals to become highly effective at marketing and sales – and that’s what he teaches his clients today through the Rainmaker Academy.
In recent years he’s been interviewed on industry and business issues by the BBC and Business Week magazine. In 2010, his Get Clients blog was named as one of the “Resources of the Decade” for professional services marketing and business development by Raintoday magazine.
